OOPS. 30 Day Book Challenge, Day 13 and 14.

-DAY 13-

Your favorite author.

To be honest, I don’t have one favorite. Three very wonderful, but very different authors come to mind though, so I will mention them here: Anne Rice, Chuck Palahniuk, and Laurell K. Hamilton.

Honorable Mention: The Brothers Grimm.

-DAY 14-

A book turned movie, completed desecrated.

Where do I BEGIN? I read Blood and Chocolate in high school, because hey, werewolves. I loved it. I thought it was very unique and not cliche at all.

When I heard there was going to be a movie adaptation, I was really excited. And the movie is great if you don’t compare it to the book.

What did they do with Blood and Chocolate? Kept the characters, changed the relationships, and completely shredded the storyline until it barely resembled the book save for character names and the fact they are werewolves.

Blood and Chocolate is very, very well written, and it was not cliche. The movie is every tired cliche ever applied to a story that it completely ruined.

As it stands, the movie is good if you haven’t read the book (9/10). As far as book-to-movie adaptations go? 0/10.
